Overview
A leading Houston hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – NICU RN to oversee operations within a high-acuity Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit . This unit cares for extremely premature and critically ill infants and serves one of the largest maternal and newborn populations in Texas. The NICU Nurse Manager provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, team development, and support for complex neonatal care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Support leadership with daily NICU operations, staffing, and clinical workflow
Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based neonatal care
Oversee quality-monitoring activities and performance improvement initiatives
Evaluate nursing care using the nursing process and assess clinical effectiveness
Provide clinical support, mentorship, and education to NICU nursing staff
Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating care for high-risk infants and families
Foster teamwork, accountability, and a family-centered care culture
Required
2+ years of recent NICU leadership experience (Manager or Charge Nurse level)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current Texas RN license or Compact license (Texas required within 60 days)
BLS certification (AHA)
Preferred
Leadership experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU
Proven success leading teams, improving outcomes, or supporting departmental growth
