Job Description

Job Title: Travel Phlebotomist

Location: Harwich, MA

Type: Contract

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday (8.5-hour shifts), occasional Saturdays and holidays, 40 hours per week, with shifts between 5:45 AM and 5:30 PM

Travel Rate: $1,204.50 per week

Note: Must be flexible to perform mobile phlebotomy and float to alternate patient service center locations across the Lower Cape based on operational needs

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Travel Phlebotomist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Harwich, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and other specimens in accordance with established standards and best practices.
  • Transport specimens promptly and safely to the laboratory.
  • Communicate any changes in patient orders to the Clinical Laboratory staff.
  • Educate patients regarding specimen collection procedures when appropriate.
  • Inspect, restock, and maintain supplies on the phlebotomy cart and related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional relations with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge in phlebotomy practices.
  • Follow departmental policies and hospital safety protocols, including fire and disaster plans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Phlebotomy required.
  • Completion of an 80-hour basic phlebotomy program with practical experience.
  • At least six months of experience in a healthcare setting involving medical terminology (e.g., Nurse Assistant, Unit Clerk, Medical Records Clerk) or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions accurately.
  • Computer proficiency required.
